Omaha World Herald: “National soccer legends spoke out and Nebraska State Soccer said its “core values” were not present at a local youth tournament after an Omaha player was mistaken for a boy and her team was disqualified.
The reactions arose after tournament organizers in Springfield wouldn’t let 8-year-old Mili Hernandez’s all-girl team play Sunday. Mo Farivari, president of the soccer club Mili plays for, blamed the disqualification on a typo on the team roster listing Mili as a boy. Listing a male player on a girls team roster is a violation of tournament rules, according to an attorney for the Southern Sarpy Activities Program, which organizes the tournament.”

Mili: “Just because I can’t play here there’s other tournaments that I can play.”
