NPR: “Michael Bloomberg is pledging to fill a funding gap created by President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate accord, offering up to $15 million to support the U.N. agency that helps countries implement the agreement.
“Americans will honor and fulfill the Paris Agreement by leading from the bottom up — and there isn’t anything Washington can do to stop us,” said Bloomberg.”

“Mayors, governors, and business leaders from both political parties are signing a statement of support,” he added.

Bloomberg spent about $1.5 million in Santa Fe to fund a soda tax which failed. He funded soda tax proposals in Oakland and San Francisco which failed. He has spent millions on other campaigns in other states, many of which have failed.

Others out there like Bloomberg use personal money to influence legislation. They understand how to influence legislation. The people supporting their political views do not have the ability to contribute anything other than their votes.
