KAISER FAMILY DEDUCTIBLE INCREASED 81% BETWEEN 2009 – 2015: AVG FAMILY CAN’T COME UP WITH $400 FOR EMERGENCY VISIT

Posted on May 11, 2016

Last month the president and CEO of America’s Health Insurance Plans warned of increases in ObamaCare next year. We learned it was the deductibles people could not meet. Zero Hedge: “According to the Fed, an astounding 47 percent of all Americans could not come up with $400 to pay for an emergency room visit without borrowing it or selling something.”

What has happened to the annual deductible for the average annual family plan?

We looked at Kaiser HMO plans for a comparison:
2009 – $1,524
2015 – $2,758
81% increase

The union leaders are now upset, families were promised $2,500 savings, and everyone has been notified of premium increases in November.
