Gallup: “Americans are nearly as open to major electoral reform when it comes to doing away with the Electoral College. Sixty-three percent would abolish this unique, but sometimes controversial, mechanism for electing presidents that was devised by the framers of the Constitution. While constitutional and statutory revisions have been made to the Electoral College since the nation’s founding, numerous efforts to abolish it over the last 200+ years have met with little success.”

John Samples, Cato: “Those who now wish to do away with the Electoral College are welcome to try to amend the Constitution. But if they succeed, they will be taking America further away from its roots as a constitutional republic. … Doing away with the Electoral College would breach our fidelity to the spirit of the Constitution, a document expressly written to thwart the excesses of majoritarianism.”
Since 1792 every state has participated in presidential elections yet the majoritization effort is less than two decades old. If the big blue states have been so misrepresented under the Electoral College why have they elected the liberals every time?
