AP: “President Barack Obama demanded on Monday that lawmakers raise the nation’s $16.4 trillion federal debt limit quickly, warning that “Social Security benefits and veterans’ checks will be delayed” if they don’t and cautioning Republicans not to insist on cuts to government spending in exchange.” Obama: “They will not collect a ransom in exchange for not crashing the economy. The full faith and credit of the United States of America is not a bargaining chip. And they better decide quickly because time is running short.”
Emanuel brought his crisis to DC today and Obama brought his to America.
Realize ‘time is running short’ on Social Security and Medicare, really? Please tell your local republicans this funding beefs up liberal national election entitlement troughs, I will never see a penny from either.
Think of all the flooding in Sandy, the water in the basements, sewage backups, and Obama shows for a few hours to do his no red tape photo-op. All of the sewage mess still in those basements four months later and Obama offers to throw them a check for $60 Billion. It includes a pork barrel feast of government goodies for fisheries, museums, Gitmo…
People are sick of Obama ignoring the real problem, waste, and continuing to raise the ceiling. They are also tired of republicans caving. Conservatives and Tea Party are going to have to start breaking stuff.
