Six months ago we focused on one of America’s efforts to reduce spending, airports replacing TSA and converting to private security. If the top 35 made the switch savings would amount to over $1 Billion each year. Orlando airport did just that. At the same time many more were considering doing so as well. The problem was Obama liked the increased unions and the ensuing control.

Burst Updates 2010: “Air cargo is not scanned. Waivers are being considered for Muslims whose religious rights are being violated. Making everything even worse are the other countries which use profiling instead and do not have the terrorist problems on flights which we do. Now the touchy feely people are to be protected under unionization to permit even more hands on security…”
In 2010 we predicted the unionization of TSA and last month, after the elections, it happened: PRN: “Workers at the Transportation Security Administration made history today when they voted to ratify the first-ever collective bargaining agreement at the agency. The agreement between the American Federation of Government Employees and TSA was ratified with a vote of 17,326-1,774.”
ObamaCare was never about health care, soon it too will be hiring millions of new government public union employees. Once we cross the Obama Cliff there will be other priorities on Obama’s plate. Yesterday we asked: “If there were a few months of extension to work this out, why wouldn’t something such as gun control, HHS mandate, or entitlements not be number one on Obama’s priority list?” Focusing on TSA, let’s consider gun control.
The NRA suggested hiring armed guards to protect our schools, why wouldn’t this be yet another opportunity to expand TSA? All of the old scanning equipment sitting around collecting dust, all of the trained TSA personnel, all of the disdain for those horrible weapons, another perfect government solution.
