Obama responded yesterday to Boehner’s offering of Plan B (the Pelosi Plan): “If you look at what the speaker has proposed, he’s conceded that income tax rates should go up, except right now he only wants to have them go up for millionaires. If you’re making $900,000, somehow he thinks that you can’t afford to pay a little more in taxes. Uh, but the principle that rates are gonna need to go up, he’s conceded.” Boehner responded in the video below.
Boehner: “The president will have a decision to make. He can call on the Senate Democrats to pass our bill, or he can be responsible for the largest tax increase in American history.”
Conservatives were upset at the tax increase concession to resolve our economy, preventing the private sector from it’s ability to either produce jobs or increase government revenues.
Obama countered with an offer to increase from $250,000 to $400,000 on the tax level which would raise government tax levels by $70 Billion. We just defined the cost of Sandy Scam which came out of Sandy relief, $60 Billion, how far will that $70 Billion go?
Obama spoke publicly to the GOP: “Take the deal. They will be able to claim that they worked with me over the last two years to reduce the deficit more than any other deficit reduction package; that we will have stabilized it for 10 years. That is a significant achievement for them. They should be proud of it.”
What can Boehner claim if they do not take his Plan B?
