Just after the last election, in the East Room, Obama spoke to America: “I’m open to compromise. I’m open to new ideas. I’m committed to solving our fiscal challenges. But I refuse to accept any approach that isn’t balanced.” Earlier that day we noted his posting of 6,125 new regulations and notifications over the past 90 days. What did they mean by compromise?
Hundreds upon hundreds of campers sit empty in a New York lot as Sandy victims remain homeless, helpless, some unable to accept food donations sent by Americans because they do not comply with state sodium, sugar, fat… standards.
It was not long before Obama spoke about the fiscal challenges that he defined no red lines in order to immediately assist the Sandy victims.
On November 10th we quoted Union president Colleen M. Kelley who said the public sector unions supported Obama so that he would unfreeze their salaries in January and institute pay hikes.
The day prior, after long delays, Health and Human Services presented two new major health reform rules opening the gates to new regulations.
Our conclusion at that time: “Compromise, a river of regulations is filling the public trough.”
On the 14th Fox wrote: “President Obama, ahead of his first press conference since winning re-election and a meeting later this week with congressional leaders, staked out his starting point for fiscal cliff negotiations — $1.6 trillion in tax hikes.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney made clear that the president is sticking by his original budget plan, which includes $1.6 trillion in new revenue, by raising taxes on households making more than $250,000.”
Our conclusion: “There are no concessions.”
The news media pressure to compromise has been place on a time limit which, because of all the paperwork, ends this week. So we looked at Obama’s schedule;
Sunday there was a concert.
Monday he was speaking in Detroit.
Tuesday was a BiteMe Biden lunch and a late phone call with Boehner.
Wednesday included a national conference call with mayors across the country.
Today he will deliver remarks at the Hanukkah Reception this evening.
WT: “An administration official said the White House is hosting more than 25 holiday parties this month. A White House spokesman wouldn’t confirm that number but said the president and first lady are hosting parties for “volunteers, members of Congress, White House staff, Secret Service personnel, White House reporters and Americans from across the country.” In all, about 14,000 people will attend a White House party or reception this holiday season.”
Obama returned from Asia November 21st and has gotten in three rounds while only one face to face with Boehner. His Oval Office caddy Carney says: “I think you’ve seen the president actively engaged in moving the process forward. The president has made clear his willingness to negotiate and compromise.”
Like stimulus, ObamaCare, Dream Act, no budgets, no oil/coal, deteriorating education standards, Detroit union thug violence…, Obama does not offer alternatives. Negotiation is no longer part of the process. Dealers give away drugs to create customers. Once hooked, the dealer defines his own terms. The mob was very good at loaning money. The Cartel does not accept ‘no’. Maybe the GOP will realize a better way to explain what the Obama dealers are creating before their addicts destroy themselves. There is no compromise. Like the dealers, Obama is only here to extort every penny you own, if you cannot pay you will be cut off or killed. If you OD, he moves on.
