RIGHT TO WORK STRIKE: SCHOOLS OUT IN MICHIGAN TODAY

Obama, from day 1, has forced the private sector to end what the people demanded and dictated they conform to what he deemed ideological. The disastrous results have never been accountable to Obama, the news media followers always permitting him to blame either Bush or the GOP. The latest example being the American taxpayer funding of A123 technology which was in turn sold to China. The interest on that research will continue to grow on the backs of US taxpayers.

Which companies cut the union checks for the UAW or the MEA protestors in Michigan? How much are their companies matching in retirement compensation? What kind of health care are they offering?

Obama was in Detroit yesterday, continuing his lame duck campaign, unaware he was almost next door to A123′s Livonia location, and simply could not control himself: “I just got to say this, what we shouldn’t be doing is trying to take away your rights to bargain for better wages and working conditions. You know, these so called right to work laws, they don’t have to do with economics. They have everything to do with politics. What they’re really talking about is giving you the right to work for less money. … We don’t want a race to the bottom, we want a race to the top. America is not going to compete based on low skill, low wage, no worker’s rights… We’ve got to get past this whole situation where we manufacture crises because of politics.”

Just over 17% of Michigan belongs to a union. The education and auto workers we asked about above, no different than A123, they are taxpayer funded. Remember the Wisconsin Walker war when the unions refused to contribute a minute percentage to their entitlements? They were willing to strike rather than give up the taxpayer gold even if it meant sinking the state.

Michigan Gov Snyder was never about breaking unions and unlike Obama, was not manufacturing a political situation. California companies are migrating to Texas just as Michigan has been losing businesses to Indiana. Texas and Indiana are right to work states. A more obvious example for Detroit, all of the foreign car companies which have relocated to America for manufacturing, why haven’t any chosen Detroit?

Obama said these right to work laws don’t have anything to do with economics. Which right to work state is in the economic doldrums today?

A settlement to avoid the fiscal cliff on Obama’s terms means higher spending. He disdains growth anywhere other than government hence union support and anti-right to work. Foreign manufacturers will not go near it! So much for improving education, what are the teachers teaching the kids by not showing up?
