During the first term Obama, when the blame was not focused on Bush, the GOP was targeted. The first two years the libs had the numbers on the Hill to control Congress, Obama ordered and they delivered. Having lost the keys to the House the libs now have threatened to rewrite the filibuster and Obama seeks total control of deficit spending. The premise for seeking such authority is to prevent the GOP from pandering to the wealthy and screwing the middle class from what is rightfully theirs, opportunity.
Former Sen Erskine Bowles(D) yesterday said the nothing will ‘get fixed’ in America until the spending stops: “The most important thing is if we’re going to raise revenue, and if we’re going to raise it in any form, then we darn well better cut spending cause spending is the biggest part of that problem. And the biggest part of that problem is the fact that health care is growing at a faster rate than GDP.”
Boehner met privately yesterday with Obama according to aides. Why? Prior to his December 4th Bloomberg interview Obama announced he would have no more face to face discussions with the GOP until they agreed to increase tax rates. Burst Updates also noted during the interview he asked for a down payment: “What I suggested is let’s essentially put a down payment, on taxes, let’s let tax rates on the upper income folks go up.” The following day we explained the stopgap act and why Obama requested that down payment.
The private meeting details are leaked to news media followers which in turn portray the GOP as the rats and Obama as Capt Middle Class here to save you from the wealthy who refuse to pay their fair share. Frontpages read;

ObamaCare was never about health, stimulus was never about creating jobs, The Dream Act was never about equality, solar and wind were never about energy independence, subprime mortgages were never about ownership opportunity, and all of the political party labeling as to who is running us off the cliff has never been focused on improving the problems of America.
Obama’s out there in front of the camera’s fanning antagonism as he did in his community organizer days, completely oblivious to the long and short term needs of America, being chased by NBC and the rest of the news dogs. They lap up whatever comes their way and quickly feed it back to HQ for the big evening national program. The print media have gone underground due to financial losses so AP and Reuters, being positioned everywhere, are ready to feed information back to posted as breaking. The top guns can run stories and the followers immediately link.
In the end it really does not matter how stupid the Joann Watsons of this country are let alone the Alan Colmes who support them, the marginal difference in the election was too small to allow these fools to believe their ant hill can overcome the country we have built. There was no reason for Obama to meet other than strengthen his position, there is no compromise Boehner.
