As a result of the continuing threat of Syria employing chemical weapons, last Monday, December 3rd, the White House starting addressing the issue. Nothing has been said about military involvement in the country’s horrid civil war when Hillary spoke in Prague about an American reaction to a Syria chemical attack: “Suffice it to say, we are certainly planning to take action if that eventuality were to occur.”
Carney spoke on the same saying any use of such would ‘cross a red line’ for the United states.
Obama later said: “I want to make it absolutely clear to Assad and those under his command: The world is watching. The use of chemical weapons is and would be totally unacceptable and if you make the tragic mistake of using these weapons, there will be consequences and you will be held accountable.”
No details were provided as to how America might respond or what military options were being considered.
NBC: “The Syrian military is prepared to use chemical weapons against its own people and is awaiting final orders from President Bashar Assad, U.S. officials told NBC News on Wednesday.
The military has loaded the precursor chemicals for sarin, a deadly nerve gas, into aerial bombs that could be dropped onto the Syrian people from dozens of fighter-bombers, the officials said.”
Chemical weapons was a factor in the decision to invade Saddam Hussein. Assad has loaded them for aerial assault, what’s Obama’s next move, sanctions? He just endorsed Morsi. He allowed his Benghazi ambassador to be murdered. He gives weapons away to the Cartel. He has destroyed missiles for Russia. Who’s afraid of Obama?
