There was just a Staten Island FEMA town hall meeting which is being portrayed by the news media as having gotten out of hand. So many of these people have yet to be contacted about their devastation which occurred months ago. We covered Donna Vanzant yesterday who was promised by Obama personally that she would receive loan assistance for her business from FEMA, yet like the Staten Island people, they are being forced to live like third world society.
We have always told you Obama has never offered anything other than entitlements yet so many once conservative sites insist on compromise to save face with the middle class and the minorities. They also argue he does not want to wear the collar of a second term recession and all of the problems associated. When do the GOP ever not get blamed and when does Obama? End of argument.
Geithner’s Proposal came out yesterday;
- Increase top marginal rates, capital gains, and dividends: $960 Billion
- Additional tax increases: $600 Billion
- 2009 level estate tax
- Multi-year stimulus package starting with at least $50 Billion in FY2013
- Permanent increase in debt limit
In exchange Obama offers $400 Billion savings to be worked out in Medicare next year.
Pelosi responded to a question about spending cuts: “A trillion and a half dollars in cuts is a lot of money. I know we are in Washington DC and we get used to big numbers, but a trillion and a half in cuts, you go beyond that you’re talking about hurting the growth of our infrastructure, the education of our people…”
What is Pelosi telling America other than enough has already been cut?
The new terms have been redefined, 400,000 weekly unemployment is the new norm, 8% will become low. The GOP participated in that deal and any signature from their side means eventual blame for the disaster.
Look at the Geithner proposal, it represents Obama. Not only are there no cuts, spending increases are demanded, and again, future promises are made to return to the table to talk about the spending problem which the GOP have already submitted proposals. It’s time to walk away and allow Obama to lead without GOP signatures. He will do it with or with out them, he did in the first two years. He allowed Hostess to bankrupt. He allowed our military to die in Libya. His option is surrender, converting unfair economic growth from an unjust America.
