The finger pointing at Romney after the first debate has grown more intense, Obama cannot run on his own record. Daily News: “His defense of his record is exceptionally weak, his effort to define Mitt Romney is nearly exhausted, and his vision for the next four years — perhaps the most important — has been largely missing from his effort this year.”
The Libya cover-up continues to produce more information and the White House is pointing more fingers. Congress has subpoenaed former US Libya security officials in charge of protecting the embassy. Lt Col Wood spoke with CBS identifying thirteen ‘threats or attacks’ on officials there over the course of the last six months. He met with our ambassador every day and said the State Department would not comply with increased security requests.
Hope and change Obama promised the yellow brick road for black America. Chicago Trib: “But much less attention has been given to the black middle class, which since the recession and slow recovery has suffered massive decreases in wealth and high rates of home foreclosures. Blacks overall are experiencing a 13.4 percent unemployment rate, according to figures released Friday, much higher than the national rate of 7.8 percent.
The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Economic Mobility Project recently released a report projecting that 68 percent of African-Americans reared in the middle of the wealth ladder will not do as well as the previous generation.
In August, the National Urban League’s State of Black America 2012 report found that nearly all the economic gains that the black middle class made during the last 30 years have been wiped out by the economic downturn.
“This is a very dire situation,” said Valerie Rawlston Wilson, an economist with the National Urban League Policy Institute. “Even for blacks who have college degrees, we’ve seen a doubling of their unemployment (rate) between 2007 and 2010″.”
Obama focused on veteran disability claims while campaigning in 2008, even traveled out of the country promising to stop at hospitals which he never saw. Before leaving office outstanding claims were falling under Bush. CNS describes the situation today: “The backlog of veterans’ disability claims has jumped by 179 percent during President Barack Obama’s first term in office, reaching 883,949 outstanding claims, according to Veterans Administration (VA) statistics. The backlog of claims is at near-record highs, with 65.8 percent of claims being backlogged for 125 days or more.”
Obama was late, again, for his appearance at Nokia Theater where Stevie Wonder… performed to raise campaign money. “Everybody here is incredible professionals, they’re such great friends and they just perform flawlessly, night after night. I can’t always say the same.”
Moving forward with no plans to fix other than using what already has failed. Bush left, if it’s not Obama’s office, why is he there? He broke it. He admits he cannot perform.
