Eastwood opened to a standing ovation which he thanked humbly attempting to calm saying, “Save a little for Mitt.” He defined Hollywood as something other than “left of Lenin” which included regular party affiliations including conservatives… saying, “They don’t go around hot-dogging.” He turned left, to an empty chair next to him, saying he had Mr Obama with him, and he had some questions for him. Everything was impromptu.

Later he brought the audience to a roar again: “You, we own this country. Politicians are employees of ours … whether you’re a Democrat or whether you’re Republican or whether you’re independent. When somebody does not do the job, you gotta let ‘em go.”

Then he gave them what they wanted most: “Make my day.”
