The wind in the Gulf is producing energy which is shutting down America’s. The windmills are not turning and the solar panels are in the dark. Venezuela’s Amuay refinery is offline due to an explosion and prices are soaring. The AAA average for today is $3.80, about 20 cents above last week.

Bloomberg: “The surge reignites an issue that has pitted President Barack Obama, who has called for the elimination of billions of dollars of subsidies enjoyed by the oil and gas industry, against the presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney. It also spurs speculation that Obama will release supplies from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to ease prices for consumers.”

So much Obama attention has been directed at the fact that the GOP is even holding their convention now while Issac is hitting New Orleans.
