On Saturday’s weekend dump AP reported that Obama spent more than his campaign collected in June. The reason I took notice was because of the fact it was dumped on Saturday. So we continued to look. WS: “According to disclosure forms with the Federal Election Commission, President Obama’s reelection team appears to have paid $92,751.50 to rent the Ohio State University’s Jerome Schottenstein Center, the site of the campaign’s much touted kick-off event in May. The disclosure appears on records of the campaign’s June spending, though the event took place May 5. And of course does not include other costs associated with the event; only the cost of renting the arena.”

We covered this back in May, the arraignment of KSM and 4 others at Gitmo began the day before.
The center’s capacity was 20,000, not enough to justify the cost, yet best estimates put the crowd at 14,000. It was mostly empty.
