Speaking in front of Roanoke, Virginia Obama went off teleprompter: “If you have been successful you didn’t get that on your own. You didn’t get that on your own. I’m always struck by people who think it must be because I was just so smart, there’re a lot of people out there. … If you got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” Among other things, his way of saying raise taxes.
“Somebody else made that happen.” Would you have succeeded without big government? How many business owners have been broke before finally making it and never accepting a penny from government?
“You didn’t get that on your own.” The smart people took more advantage of the benefits. If that were true the 99% are awful damn stupid and you are wasting my money on their education not to mention their time. Students who receive governments loans for college, I wonder if their GPA requirement is mandatory to ‘get there’, it wasn’t for Obama to get to the Oval Office. We may never know what his grades were.
The “get there on your own” philosophy also explains why he spent so much on stimulus, ObamaCare… Stimulus created that expanded big government capable of ‘getting everyone there’. Go back to the very beginning of this site, it was a dictatorship before he entered the White House. We said that people would not know Obama until he was impromptu.
It’s now in Romney’s court. Obama would not say some of these things if some of the people would not believe them. Reagan made the truth easy to understand. Where would everybody be today if less money had been spent on government?
