They called it Affordable Care and promised no premium increases. Because of the double accounting used with Medicare to achieve the under $1 Trillion cost in order to pass ObamaCare, states are now being forced to expand Medicaid. In similar economic framework they are being fronted costs for the first few years by government and then those funds will disappear. Consequently many governors have elected not to accept the money, delaying the plan.
The bipartisan deficit commission’s plan was ignored by Obama. Even so, it provided big opportunities in his favor. First, the caps it imposed on federal expenditures and revenues of GDP were higher than existing. The spending caps were higher so it appeared to be a concession but a lot of room remained.
Suddenly America faces $16 Trillion in deficit and the middle class is staring down the barrel of a new tax. This is the same sector of society Obama promised he would not tax. It was only the Millionaires and the Billionaires, the greedy rich we can all hate. Now America knows it includes people under $120,000, 70-75% of those earn in this tax bracket. What are the odds Obama knew middle class had skin in the game from the start? Another term to fix it?
