Obama’s denials as to ObamaCare never presenting a penalty and not a tax have been verified frequently by Burst Updates over the past several days. Noted in the jointly signed 4 dissenting opinions was both the fact that ObamaCare imposed a tax and a mandate with a penalty substituted for those who did not comply. Ultimately the people have been told big government can mandate what they can or cannot buy, the dirty word is tax, not Commerce Clause.
Carney yesterday: “You can call it what you want. If you read the opinion, it is not a broad based tax. It affects 1%, by CBO estimates of the population. It is not something that you assess like an income tax. It’s a penalty because you have a choice. You don’t have a choice to pay your taxes, right? You have a choice to buy, and you can.” The terms of ObamaCare are purchase insurance or pay a tax. The tax is based on several factors for people including family size, income, percentages… and penalties include refund deductions, jail time…
Axelrod spoke yesterday on NBC: “Whether you call it a mandate or a tax, what it is, is a penalty on the very few Americans who don’t, who can’t afford health care, don’t pay for it, end up in our emergency rooms getting free care and then we all pay for it in the form of higher premiums.” Libs claim there are good aspects to the plan but nobody sells it based on them.
Pelosi: “Call it what you will. This is a step forward for America’s families. And you know what? Take yes for an answer. This is a very good thing for the American people. What you are talking about here is Washington talk. … Technical terms, that’s for us here.” I would still bet a box of DL 700M’s she has not read the health care bill she is promoting. She does not want you to know anything about it. Pelosi mentions technical terms for us in Washington, you are not mindless robots! Obviously she is not addressing the Tea Party. She’s hiding the truth, tax increase.
Nobody predicted the mandate being upheld because it is not constitutional, all of the bow downs to the person who out smarted us is crap. Take a hint from Morris’s latest and add Screwed to Roberts title. His role is not to decide the consequences of personal decisions regarding political choices. At the same time the libs walked the fence on this one and are feeling the pain of their actions, socialized health care achieved through taxation. People bought into the concept until they understood it and now free means no house, no income, no job, no family, no food…, no freedom.
