OBAMA MOVES TO BLOCK DRONE ASSASSINATION FILES

The Obama team filed a midnight motion to prevent the release of information regarding the continuing drone killings by our anti-war president. I do not know if either the White House or the news media followers are permitted to say ‘radical Islamic terrorists’ again but no different than the firewalls created with Fast and Furious, Obama wants no association with war crimes.

Guardian: “The Obama administration has sought to block the release of documents related to its use of robot drones to strike suspected terrorists overseas, claiming that it can still not admit that the secretive programme of targeted killing exists. … The move prompted the ACLU to label the continued refusal to acknowledge the use of drones to kill alleged terrorist leaders as “absurd” given that both President Barack Obama and his counter-terrorism adviser John Brennan have both made public references to it.”

A deputy legal counselor from the ACLU responded: “If they can make these claims to the media, they can answer requests under the Freedom of Information Act. The public is entitled to know more about the legal authority the administration is claiming and the way that the administration is using it.”

In his first year Obama’s drone attacks totaled more than 50, exceeding Bush’s 8 years. Anyone in the area of the attack is considered an enemy yet in Pakistan the London Bureau of Investigative Journalism estimates the overwhelming majority to be citizens.

How do other countries feel when families do not know who killed their relatives? Ask America what it thinks about the Terry family.
