Bloomberg USAToday: “Bold actions to protect the public’s health always stir controversy at first. Smoke-free bars and restaurants, trans fat restriction and calorie posting in restaurants were all met with skepticism, but are now widely popular in New York City. They are also saving many lives each year, and life expectancy in New York City is outpacing that of the United States.” Control has become something good.

In the 1990′s OTS, Office of Thrift Supervision, changed the rules for the Alternative Mortgage Transaction Parity Act. This is important for two reasons. First it opened up loan regulations which initiated the downfall of our economy and second, Gov Cuomo, takes us back to New York once again as he was named director of HUD.
Just as Bloomberg is asking the people to to learn to accept the warm water of more control, Cuomo stepped in 15 years ago and destroyed our economy by opening subprime to Fannie and Freddie: “GSE presence in the subprime market could be a significant benefit to lower income families, minorities, and families living in undeserved areas.”
Bloomberg cannot get past cigarettes or calories let alone the almost 4 Million who have vacated New York.

Yet at a time when many politicians nationwide were faring poorly in polls, city voters still liked the overall job Mr. Bloomberg was doing.
