Failure has always been a factor in success, we learn what works through our mistakes. Those who do not are left behind. Liberalism does not evolve, it has no motivation for what has always been the ‘American Dream’. It lives in the past. It’s dreams are old. It’s future is a nightmare. A year ago we joked about $4 gas, $5 ATM fees, and $6 milk. Guess what?

WP: “The U.S. government last year announced a $10 million award, dubbed the “L Prize,” for any manufacturer that could create a “green” but affordable light bulb.
Energy Secretary Steven Chu said the prize would spur industry to offer the costly bulbs, known as LEDs, at prices “affordable for American families.” There was also a “Buy America” component. Portions of the bulb would have to be made in the United States.
Now the winning bulb is on the market.
The price is $50.”
Count on Sec Chu for the best prices. How long has Obama been negotiating with foreign countries to stipulate our pollution standards?

You do realize that the law mandading energy efficient bulbs was signed into law by George Bush?
Yes- these bulbs are pricey. And as LED technology becomes more common (and this bulb is hands down the best example yet) prices will drop. I remember when Compact Fluorescent lights first came out in the mid 90′s. Prices where, adjusted for inflation, pretty similar. ($30+/-) at the time. Now they are $2-$5. I was an early adopter. Out of more the 20 bulbs purchased 15 years ago, all but 3 are still going strong (and one of those 3 I dropped and broke). The cost savings in replacement alone has saved me money- not to mention the savings every month for 15 years on my electricity bill, or for that matter- time and money going to the store for new bulbs.
