In his weekly address at the end of February Obama introduced a new energy solution to resolve the pump prices which have increased each day for the past month, algae. He promises to free the nation from foreign oil without drilling. A recent WP/Pew poll shows people siding with oil companies and not Obama. Chevy Volt added it’s name to the electric car companies who have pulled the production plug. Sec Chu told America the goal was not to lower gas prices.

CNN: “The nationwide average for gasoline prices rose for the 26th straight day Sunday, topping the $3.76-a-gallon mark, according to the motorist group AAA.”
The people are sick of listening to the possibilities of future alternatives while prices at the pump climb every day. They do not like the excuse of the global market determining prices, open production in America and see what happens.
Invest in batteries and invest in Korea… America runs on oil.

The same Republicans now attacking the administration about algae were proponents of it four years ago. Even if we were to start drilling for oil now, it would take decades for that to reach our pumps as gasoline.

What else could this be other than back in 2009 when Algenol Biofuels promised to produce 1 Billion gallons/year of biofuel at a cost of well under $1? A handful of GOP discussed it yet the results of the Algenol promise, how do they not speak for themselves?
Do the math again, it was not 4 years ago.
“Even if we were to start drilling for oil now, it would take decades for that to reach our pumps as gasoline.”
The GOP has been pushing to drill for decades and decades. Who told you it takes 10 years to “reach our pumps as gasoline”? Regardless, how long would it have taken Keystone?
