Five months before last years midterms Politico, representative of the media followers and liberals in general, wrote that even in a minority, Pelosi would be House leader. As such she would be even stronger, surrounded by even more loyal liberals, unlike the centrists, dedicated to their cause. I believe the phrase used was democrat losers. After the elections, some felt many liberals would retire yet, like the Politico article, they again declared a victory and predicted a future landslide.
In the spring this year candidate Obama spoke about Pelosi during a fundraiser saying he thought she would: “go down in history as one of the finest Speakers that we have ever had, and she is going to continue to be, in the future, one of the great Speakers that we’ve ever had.”
Yesterday Alexandra Pelosi said: “She would retire right now, if the donors she has didn’t want her to stay so badly. They know she wants to leave, though.”
Part of Pelosi’s administration quickly issued a statement denying her departure and blaming the right-wing. The key to the statement was: “When the day comes and Leader Pelosi’s work is done, she won’t be announcing it there.” I will return to that in a minute.
When Pelosi took over the deficit was $162 Billion and when she left as Speaker the deficit was $1.29 Trillion. Who benefited most from all of the spending?
The individual in her administration said she would “she won’t be announcing there”, in front of the donors. Her daughter, by complete mistake, told the truth. Pelosi does not represent the people. Obama said she will be remembered in history as one of America’s finest Speakers.
