Obama walked through the White House front doors after swearing to defend his duties. The Defense of Marriage Act, DOMA, is a law he decided to leave behind.
Consider what has occurred in Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Arizona as a result of the same, undermining and/or discouraging the enforcement of law. Why are we even fighting ObamaCare? Who is ignoring judicial orders against the drilling moratorium? The EPA just mandated Shell in Alaska.
Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli fired King & Spalding after the law firm withdrew its representation of the House over DOMA. News media followers are reporting it as ‘anti-gay’. Law firms defend clients not cases, why would anyone, especially a state AG appealing ObamaCare, want to retain counsel which folded to the feds?
This is the impressive sector of the GOP. Obama effectively shut down America’s economy, demands increased borrowing, and the news media followers grab their ankles. He refuses to enforce existing law and they shut the hell up. Cuccinelli refuses to unbuckle and they call him anti-gay.
What if Bush had refused to support Roe v Wade? No different than the regime, how would the same news media followers and liberal minions have reacted if he had simply told America he decided to discourage further enforcement? What if he felt oil to be too serious a problem and told Alaska he would overlook all drilling restrictions? Imagine a leaked story saying he was discussing the possibility of new taxes for attorneys.
