OBAMA ENERGY POLICY: USE LESS OR YOU’RE SCREWED

In his energy ‘speech’ yesterday Obama once again blamed everyone else except himself for America’s problems. Rolling off the redundant lines of no quick fixes, eliminating foreign dependence, thinking long term, affordable energy…, he continued his 2012 campaign before Georgetown students.

Last week America was told further drilling on federal areas would have no affect on our oil supply or prices yet the regime bragged about increased production under his watch: “Last year America reached it’s highest fuel level production since 2003.” Last year did not occur this year since that ‘highest fuel level production since 2003′ was in 2009. Obama is far more intelligent than myself, in addition to his overwhelming staff, no doubt this was another teleprompter gaffe.

A few days ago we noted an AP article concerning information Obama had requested prior to his energy ‘speech’: “More than two-thirds of offshore leases in the Gulf of Mexico are sitting idle, neither producing oil and gas, nor being actively explored by the companies who hold the leases, according to a Department of Interior report to be released Tuesday.
Those inactive swaths of the Gulf could potentially hold more than 11 billion barrels of oil and 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, Interior said in the report obtained by The Associated Press
.” What did he say about these vast resources?

Obama: “We have been down this road before. Remember, it was just 3 years ago that gas prices topped $4 a gallon. I remember because I was in the middle of a presidential campaign. Working folks certainly remember because it hit a lot of people pretty hard. And because we were at the height of political season, you had all kinds of slogans and gimmicks and outraged politicians waving their three point plans for $2 a gallon gas. You remember that. Drill baby drill. And none of it was really gonna do anything to solve the problem. There was a lot of hue and cry, a lot of fulminating and hand wringing but nothing actually happened. … Here’s the bottom line. There are no quick fixes. Anybody who tells you otherwise isn’t telling you the truth. And we will keep on being a victim to shifts in the oil market until we finally get serious about a long term policy for a secure, affordable energy future. We’re gonna have to think long term.”

He continues to blame big oil. Obama must implore America to think long term to sell wind and solar yet refuses to do the same with oil. The notion of no quick fixes is an insult to any 3rd grader who wants a college education to be an engineer or a doctor. Bush’s permits are producing Obama’s oil. The idiocy of lying to America by telling them permits are backed-up or 7 have been issued is not a leader one can trust. How long did it take to sue Arizona, Wisconsin, BP, Virginia, appeal Judge Vinson…? Six of those 7 permits were previously signed. How can anyone with half a brain contend we are not drilling enough?

It’s the old do as I say Obama. There are no alternatives in his mind. He knows more about oil than big oil, drill where he allows or don’t drill. Because of Japan the regime now has a plan B, if electric does not work we will run our F150′s on wood chips.
