Last week America was told further drilling on federal areas would have no affect on our oil supply or prices. We also learned new permits were not being authorized. How does the regime know the Brazil investment will produce what America cannot?
Petrobrás is thriving with the opportunity to invest US taxpayer dollars in new offshore wells while Seahawk Drilling just filed for bankruptcy, they were unable to obtain permits.
AP: “More than two-thirds of offshore leases in the Gulf of Mexico are sitting idle, neither producing oil and gas, nor being actively explored by the companies who hold the leases, according to a Department of Interior report to be released Tuesday.
Those inactive swaths of the Gulf could potentially hold more than 11 billion barrels of oil and 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, Interior said in the report obtained by The Associated Press.” The regime requested the report to use in a Wednesday speech concerning his future plans for our energy.
Salazar said: “These are resources that belong to the American people, and they expect those supplies to be developed in a timely and responsible manner and with a fair return to taxpayers.” Once again we are back to the federal land leases private corporations have no interest in spending money to explore. Their report says “the Gulf could potentially hold more than 11 billion barrels of oil and 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas”. Anyone with half a brain knows the treasure is there, why gamble in unknown areas? Brazil is not being forced to do it.
The regime is saving Soros’s, Europe’s, Iran’s, Cuba’s… everyone’s oil but ours. Real companies are dying. Real people are losing jobs. Real people’s prices are increasing. Who in their right mind wants to hear their president tell Brazil he wants to become their best customer? Why do you want our jobs created over there? Why would anyone want to increase our deficits to improve their economy? Who does he want to succeed most, illegals, Americans, or terrorists?
