Last year Scotland became serious about global warming. First Minister Alex Salmond marked the establishment of the Scottish European Green Energy Centre and the Energy and Environment Director at ScottishPower said: “We are pleased to be supporting The Scottish European Green Energy Centre, which has an important role to play in further establishing relationships across Europe that will benefit green technology and future developments in Scotland. Scotland has some of the best natural resources in the world for developing low carbon technology, and groundbreaking projects have already been implemented here. This year ScottishPower Renewables completed Europe’s largest onshore windfarm at Whitelee near Glasgow and Longannet power station in Fife started a project to test carbon capture technology – a UK first. This initiative will help to ensure that Scotland can build on its strong position with further benefits for our environment, and our economy.”
Never to be outdone and always conscious of those who are receiving facetime around the world, Obama, unable to be a part of the scene through congressional or voter efforts, initiated regulations through an external agency, the EPA. Now he too can build windmills and have tea with the European greens.
Just as stimulus and ObamaCare were railroaded through to benefit us and reduce costs, both increased spending and decreased their advantages as we read more of those 2,000 pages. It has been very similar to the Gulf shutdown in that currently we are importing about 4 times what we produce, and since production has been locked, all of those other competing economies around the world which have nothing to drill are now competing with us. The old econ 101 supply and demand rule says costs increase.
Back to the ‘unintended consequences’, the EPA got the ‘green light’ and later it was good morning airport for people traveling across America. Airports, streets, businesses… are closed due to freezing temperatures and the white stuff yet the articulate black guy is saving us from ourselves and global warming?
The Scotsman: “Scotland’s wind farms are unable to cope with the freezing weather conditions – grinding to a halt at a time when electricity demand is at a peak, forcing the country to rely on power generated by French nuclear plants.”
Europe’s windmills are frozen, their weather conditions occur when there is no wind. The liberals knew socializing government and health care has never worked anywhere before they passed it. Obama knows he cannot power the airports with windmills today but he nonetheless is mandating the regulations. More spending, more taxes will solve the problem.
