People woke up this morning concerned about jobs and the economy focused on the midterms. Later in the morning they were showered with news of national security investigations of planes being inspected for bombs nationwide.
What has changed since the Ft Hood shootings, NY Square bomber, or the the underwear bomber? How many people on the Mexican border feel safer since Obama sued Arizona’s immigration bill? How much comfort has the release of illegals from their court dates brought you? Who feels better about admitted 9/11 terrorists being tried with civil rights in American courts?
Last night foreign allies tipped off this country as to bombs being brought in here on both passenger and cargo planes. One has been verified in Dubai and we are awaiting confirmation of the other in London. Regardless of the status of what is found in the states, people are now aware of not only the possibility but the ongoing effort.
In a brief statement before the nation less than an hour ago Obama suggested that maybe if we were to improve Yemen’s economic status they would be better able to deal with the problem. Once again, no different than the Muslim Ground Zero problem, ignoring the religious fanaticism driving the culture.
Consider how this may have been avoided altogether if those terrorists had been interrogated. Their immunity was sold for our future sacrifices. The recent Obama statement concerning what we are capable of absorbing in the way of another attack represents the real Obama, the one still not ready to come out from behind the teleprompter.
