The news comes 2 months after the Simon Cowell departure, although rumors had been abound at the time, that there was another leaving as well. There is also speculation that the remaining judges are possibly not returning for next season.
DeGeneres: “While I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. A couple months ago, I let Fox and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” she said. “I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next.”
She knew all along that Simon’s candid critiques turned her off, why did she take on the job to begin with realizing that was part of it?
Down to Randy and Kara, we know Kara’s contract is up and back to the rumor mill yet again is the talk of Randy wanting to leave.
It always seemed so amazing the way Law and Order was able to survive all of the character changes, nobody today was there in the nineties. DeGeneres will not be missed as a real judge, she was first in the evaluation line for a reason. Simon knew what he was talking about even if he did not always seem nice. Kara and Randy have musical backgrounds although Kara was far more on track. It is difficult to imagine replacing 3 and essentially a new show to change out everyone.
UPDATE:
Ellen’s replacement will be Jenifer Lopez and Simon’s thought to be Aerosmith’s Tyler. Also Kara has decided to leave.
