R.I. PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION REJECTS WIND POWER

It was unanimous, the board voted against purchasing power from a wind farm.

The facility was planned to be constructed in the ocean of the coast of the state, a project the first of it’s kind. Despite incredible environmental support, the commission was unable to justify the additional expenses. In summation they agreed that when subjected to state tests, projected costs were not “commercially reasonable”.

Once again we must consider the Obama promises, in this instance green jobs. On the campaign trail he assured voters of the creation of 5 million new green jobs. Heritage notes from last January: “Today President Obama announced $2.3 billion in tax credits for a clean energy economy will ostensibly create 17,000 jobs..”

The additional spending as well as cap-and-trade are focused on accomplishing nothing more than putting our country even further under water. The spending has done nothing more than increase deficits, where are the jobs? Cap-and-trade will only burden our companies, forcing further layoffs, less production, and decreased tax revenues.

Wind power does not create a green environment, it produces a red economy.
